Bank Holidays Next Week: If you are planning to go to your bank for any banking-related work during festive weeks, please plan it accordingly, as several banks in India(BHARAT) will be closed for multiple days this week. The reason for the closing of banks is the upcoming major festivals. The banks, state-run and private, will be closed between October 13 and October 19. Notably, this month is seeing several bank holidays and less banking work because of major festivals such as Navratri, Durga Puja, Karva Chauth, and Diwali.

According to Reserve Bank Of India(BHARAT), private and public sector banks will be closed this week due to bank and regional holidays.

For How Many Days Will Banks Be Closed In October?

Private and public sector banks including SBI, HDFC, ICICI and Canara Bank etc will close for up to 21 days in the month of October because of official bank holidays such as Diwali, Maha Ashtami, Dussehra, Durga Puja and Chhat Puja. These holidays also include monthly and weekly offs. In addition to regional and national holidays RBI requires banks to observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, as well as on all Sundays.

What To Do During Emergencies On Bank Holidays?

It is worth mentioning that bank holidays vary from state to state/region to region and pan-India(BHARAT) depending on the nature of the holiday. On bank holidays, operations like depositing a cheque, which require an individual to visit a bank branch, are withheld.

However, net banking and mobile banking services will remain operational. UPI services also remain available during bank holidays. If an individual wants to withdraw cash, he can visit the nearest ATM.
