Gunmen attacked Pakistan paramilitary force headquarters in Peshawar on Monday.
Peshawar: A shocking incident has surfaced from neighbouring Pakistan where unidentified gunmen attacked a paramilitary force’s headquarters in Peshawar on Monday. The paramilitary force premises were also targeted by two suicide bombers, in which three people lost their lives, Reuters reported citing police.
“The first suicide bomber first carried out an attack on the main entrance of the constabulary and the other one entered the compound. Law enforcement personnel, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area and are carefully handling the situation as we suspect there are some terrorists inside the headquarters,” Reuters quoted a senior official saying.

Police official have cordoned off the area and responding to the attack, The Dawn quoted police officer Mian Saeed Ahmad as saying.
“Several explosions have taken place in the area,” the official said, adding that “the area is being cordoned off,” Ahmad said.
Months earlier, ten people lost their lives and several sustained injuries after a massive car bomb exploded outside the paramilitary headquarters which is located in Quetta.
It is worth noting that, the incident came when Islamabad is dealing with escalating regional tensions with Afghanistan. On September 3, 11 people were killed in a suicide attack occurred at a political rally in Quetta. Several persons were injured in the suicide attack.
Notably, the Pakistan Army have been fighting a longstanding battle with insurgency in Balochistan which claimed over 780 lives in last year.
In March, the Baloch Liberation Army attacked and hijacked a train, killing duty troops. Since this year, more than 400 people, mostly soldiers, have been killed in several attacks.
