India(BHARAT)n cricketer Deepak Chahar’s sister, actor–director Malti Chahar, entered Bigg Boss 19 as a wildcard and quickly became one of the most talked-about contestants of the season. Known for her fiery clashes and blunt opinions, she made it into the top six before being evicted. Now, in her first interview post-exit, Malti has finally addressed one of the most controversial tags she received inside the house, being called a lesbian, and she isn’t holding back.
Why was Malti Chahar given this tag?
Much of Malti’s friction in the house revolved around Farrhana Bhatt. Viewers often noticed Malti hovering around Farrhana during discussions and arguments, sparking online speculation. Things escalated during one heated moment when Malti stood inches away from Farrhana and refused to step back despite Kunickaa insisting she move away.
Kunickaa later told Tanya she believed Malti might be a lesbian, a comment that set off a chain of assumptions both inside and outside the house.
What does Malti Chahar say about the label?
Addressing the chatter, Malti said, “I wasn’t admiring anyone in that way. I was simply talking to the boys and talking to the girls, that’s it. And if I were a lesbian, I would have no problem accepting it. There is nothing wrong with being a lesbian. I am straight.”
She added firmly that the term doesn’t offend her, “‘Lesbian’ is not an insult. I have no problem with acceptance. But this narrative was first set by Farrhana.”
According to Malti, Farrhana often crossed boundaries and would “leave nothing unsaid” if it helped her survive in the game. Malti also said that even during the press conference round, a media person accused her of being “obsessed” with Farrhana, an allegation she rejected, claiming that Farrhana constantly pokes her and she only responds.
