Bihar polls: Tej Pratap Yadav makes BIG statement about BJP, claims his party will emerge as ‘serious political force’ after…

Bihar Assembly Election: Tej Pratap Yadav, the estranged son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, and older brother of Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Minister candidate Tejashwi Yadav, has asserted that his Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) would emerge as a “serious political force” after the Bihar Assembly Election.

What did Tej Pratap Yadav say?

Tej Pratap, who flouted the JJD after the falling out with his father and younger brother, exuded confidence that he will emerge victorious from the Mahua assembly seat where polling was underway in the first phase of Bihar Assembly Election on Thursday.

“I am confident the people of Mahua will bless me again. Why won’t they? I have worked for them, and they know it,” PTI quoted Yadav as saying.

Why BJP leaders are praising Tej Pratap?

Asked why some BJP leaders are praising him, Tej Pratap Yadav, whose Janshakti Janata Dal is contesting 44 seats in the ongoing Bihar polls, said good work must be lauded and the tendency to indulge in “negative rhetoric” must be criticised.

“If someone does good work, they should be congratulated. If they do bad work, they should be questioned. We believe in doing good work, and people will appreciate us,”

Will Tej Pratap join NDA?

On reports that he recently met his mother, the former CM Rabri Devi, Yadav claimed that he hasn’t met either of his parents since leaving.

The JJP founder dodged queries on whether he would join the BJP-led NDA, or the INDIA Bloc, aka the Mahagathbandhan, led by his younger brother and opposition’s CM face Tejashwi Yadav.

Meanwhile, polling is underway for 121 seats in the first phase of Bihar Assembly election, as 3.75 crore voters exercise their franchise to decide the fate of 1,000 candidates, including Tej Pratap Yadav, who is contesting the Mahua assembly seat.

According to Election Commission, a voter turnout of 60.13% was recorded till 5 PM, amid sporadic violence, including an alleged mob attack on Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha’s convoy in his home turf, Lakhisarai.
