‘BJP leaders who voted in Delhi, also voted in Bihar…’: Rahul Gandhi’s BIG ‘vote chori’ allegation, says EC cannot…

Bihar Assembly Election: In his fresh attack against the BJP, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday leveled new “vote chori” (vote theft) allegations on the rival party, claiming that BJP leaders who had cast their votes in the Delhi elections earlier this year, also voted in the first phase of the Bihar assembly election.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

“I came to know yesterday that BJP leaders who cast votes in Delhi, also voted in the first phase of Bihar polls (on Thursday),” Rahul Gandhi alleged while addressing a poll rally in Banka district on Friday.

The Congress MP also claimed that his party produced “irrefutable” evidence of “vote chori” (vote theft) in the Haryana polls, and the Election Commission cannot deny the charges.  Gandhi alleged that the BJP had indulged in vote theft in other states, and was now trying to do the same in Bihar.

“Out of the 2 crore voters in Haryana, 29 lakh electors are fake… The BJP indulged in ‘vote chori’ in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, and now they are trying to repeat it in Bihar. But, I am certain the people of Bihar will not allow this to happen in their state,” he said.

NDA ‘diverting’ youth from real issues

On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi, in his ‘H Files’ press conference, had alleged that the Haryana assembly polls last year were “stolen” by the BJP, citing electoral list data to claim that 25 lakh entries were fake and the Election Commission colluded with the ruling party to ensure the its victory.

Meanwhile, in Banka, Rahul Gandhi, the The Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks at a poll rally, and accused Bihar’s incumbent NDA dispensation of encouraging youth to make social media reels to “divert attention from pressing issues”. “Reels are the addiction of the 21st century,” Gandhi said.

Bihar Phase-1 polling sees record turnout

The first phase of Bihar Assembly Election concluded on Thursday with a record voter turnout of 64.66 per cent, highest-ever in the state’s history. Voting was held on 121 seats spread across 18 districts, and a total of 3.75 crore voters were eligible to exercise their franchise in the first phase of polls. The second phase of assembly polls will be held on November 11, and the votes will be counted on November 14.

The first phase decided the fate of several senior leaders, including RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Mangal Pandey and JD(U)’s Shravan Kumar and Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Tej Pratap Yadav is also in the fray in the first phase.
