Bomb Threat: Delhi-Patna Rajdhani train halted for several minutes, panic at Mau Railway Junction

The Tejas Rajdhani train travelling from Delhi to Patna was halted for several minutes after receiving a bomb threat on Saturday night.

Aligarh: Panic erupted among passengers after the Tejas Rajdhani train received a bomb threat on Saturday night. The train, which was travelling to Patna from the national capital, halted for 31 minutes at the Aligarh railway station, news agency ANI reported. According to police, a call was received claiming that a bomb had been planted on the train.

The Tejas Rajdhani train was going from Delhi to Patna. We received information from Delhi Control about a bomb threat on board,” news agency ANI quoted Commanding Officer RPF Aligarh Gulzar Singh as saying.


After the call, the train was halted at the Aligarh Railway Station and a team of Bomb Disposal Squad members and local police, along with dog scouts, thoroughly checked every coach.

“As soon as we received the information, our entire BDS (Bomb Disposal Squad) team, the local police, the Station House Officer, the civil authorities, our dog scouts, the BDS team, and the fire brigade officers, the divisional officers from here, checked the train… Nothing was found..,” he added

“The train was stopped for 31 minutes. The train has now been given clearance..,” Singh said.

Earlier this month, Kashi Express, travelling from Gorakhpur to Mumbai, was halted at Mau Railway Station following a bomb threat from an unknown caller. Later, police stated that the bomb threat was a hoax.
