BOMB THREAT in Delhi: 2 schools, 3 courts receive Jaish-e-Mohammad mail, triggers panic after Red Fort blast

New Delhi: Delhi Police and security agencies are on high alert after three court complexes, including Saket District Court, Patiala House Court and two CRPF schools, received bomb threat mails on Tuesday. One of the CRPF schools is located in Dwarka, and another in Prashant Vihar. The bomb threat emails prompted immediate security alerts and precautionary measures, officials said. The bomb threat emails were received in the morning at around 9 am.

Three court complexes, including the Saket District Court and Patiala House Court, were immediately vacated after the threat emails as a precautionary measure. A Police team and bomb disposal squad rushed to the courts and school premises as soon as they got the information.

Schools were also evacuated as a precaution. Students and teachers were moved to secure places while the bomb disposal teams conducted thorough checks. Police also tightened the security at the areas to control the situation.

However, after thorough checks, the authorities declared the bomb threats to be a hoax.

It is to be noted that the bomb threats were received days after the explosion outside the Red Fort on November 10.

Earlier in the day, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted major raids at the Al-Falah University, the trustees and people connected to the case. Umar Nabi, who drove the i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort metro, was working as an assistant professor at the University which is located in Faridabad. He was employed as an assistant professor in the general medicine department.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Red Fort Blast case rose to 15 after people hospitalised in the hospitals succumbed to their injuries.

However, the bomb threats, which were declared a hoax, raised tensions in the national capital once again, alerting the national security agencies.

On Monday, intensifying the ongoing investigation, the NIA nabbed another Kashmiri resident who is connected to the Red Fort car blast. The agency also said that a Jaish module was planning Hamas-style drone attacks in the country.

According to officials, the terror group also tried to make small rockets for a series of coordinated blasts.

On Sunday, the NIA nabbed Amir Rashid Ali, who is a Kashmiri resident, in whose name car was registered. Ali, who hailed from Pampore, was taken into custody in Delhi.

Investigators are investigating whether Umar Un Nabi, a terrorist associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, tried to act as a ‘shoe bomber.’ This investigation was prompted by the discovery of a shoe located under the driver’s seat, close to the right front tyre of the i20 vehicle.
