New Delhi: India has bagged a gold medal within the Chess Olympiad for the first time in history, the gold became claimed within the open section of the 2024 Chess Olympiad on twenty 2d September 2024, Sunday.

The Indian men’s team, comprising Arjun Erigaisi, Gukesh D, R Praggnanandhaa, Vidit Gujrathi, P Harikrishna and Srinath Narayanan (captain), bagged gold within the Open category at the forty fifth Chess Olympiad in Hngary’s Budapest. India had bagged bronze within the Open category within the forty fourth Chess Olympiad.
