CM Yogi urges for voter list clean-up in review meeting to ensure smooth SIR process

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Monday held a review meeting in Ghaziabad. He had a meeting with the office bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Meerut division. The Panchayat Election is expected to take place in 2026, and the Assembly Election in 2027. He also highlighted that the ongoing revision of the voter list must be taken seriously, with no fake voters. The workers of the party have also been directed to help people who arrive home late due to work.
What was discussed in the review meeting?
The review meeting took place in Ghaziabad and included the BJP party workers from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Meerut, Hapur, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, and Ghaziabad. A senior official said that its main objective was to develop better coordination along with faster work progress. In addition, it was also aimed at a clear review of the voter list revision process. The review meeting went on for over an hour.
What did CM Yogi say in the review meeting?
CM Yogi Adityanath stated that the process of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) is important, as per Loni MLA Nand Kishor Gujar. The Chief Minister also stressed ensuring that names that are not eligible do not enter the list and those who are eligible must have their names on the list. He checked the district-wise data and guided that booth-level work must be done seriously.
SIR Process in Ghaziabad
According to the data provided by the Ghaziabad district administration, the district of Ghaziabad has a voter base of 2,837,991 spread across Loni, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modi Nagar and Muradnagar. The officials had distributed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms to more than 2.83 million voters by Monday afternoon.
