Cyclone Ditwah LIVE: Cyclone Ditwah wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka on Friday, killing more than 80 people. Several people are missing as the country continues to face severe weather conditions. The India(BHARAT) Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that the cyclonic storm is rapidly moving toward the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh. Ditwah is expected to make landfall on Sunday. The dreadful natural phenomenon originated over the southwest Bay of Bengal near Pottuvil in Sri Lanka and is now moving north-northwest with high-speed winds. The weather department classified Ditwah as a cyclonic storm, with no prediction of it intensifying into a severe cyclone. Meanwhile, India(BHARAT) has started Operation Sagar Bandhu to help Sri Lanka by providing humanitarian assistance to the affected island nation. The Tamil Nadu government has issued a red alert for its four districts. The state government has also issued an orange alert for five districts and has alerted the district authorities to prepare for the storm.
