‘Dare to physically harm him…’: Imran Khan’s sister issues stark WARNING to Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief Asim Munir over…, declares red line..
Imran, 73, has been in custody since August 2023 and is currently imprisoned in Adiala jail in a 190 million-pound corruption case. He also faces trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act linked to the events of May 9, 2023.
Speculation surrounding the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has increased rapidly. A few days ago, rumors were circulating about Khan’s assassination, which created havoc and panic across Pakistan. This prompted the government of Shehbaz Sharif to release a statement indicating that Imran Khan is safe. Still, despite that clarification, discussions surrounding his death speculation have continued.
What prompted the warning against PM Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir?
In the meantime, Noreen Niazi, Imran Khan’s sister, has also spoken out against the government of Shehbaz Sharif and the Army Chief, Asim Munir. Naureen has said that if there is any attempt to harm the PTI leader, it will cause a huge revolt in Pakistan like an earthquake. She has made these statements to NDTV.
Why does she call any harm to Imran Khan a ‘red line’?
In her conversation with NDTV, Noreen claimed that Imran Khan is completely healthy, terming him “a hundred percent healthy person.” While speaking to NDTV, Noreen Niazi, one of the three sisters of jailed and former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, said,” I think they should not even dare to physically harm Imran Khan, because that is a red line. I think if they do that, the country will be in chaos, because the public is behind him, and they are waiting to see him. So they dare not do anything to him.”
What rumours about Imran Khan’s health triggered the warning?
Additionally, Noreen Niazi alleged that rumours about Khan’s condition were being deliberately spread to “trouble the public and his supporters”. She also alleged that the former PM has been placed in solitary confinement for almost one month, which goes against legally mandated restrictions placed upon inmates to not be left alone for over 4 days. “It is like a mental and physical abuse of Imran Khan. They put him in isolation, which is a crime according to the jail manual,” Noreen Niazi, who is the sister of imprisoned Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, told NDTV. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, age 73, was murdered inside Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, where he has been incarcerated since August 2023.
Imran, 73, has been in custody since August 2023 and is currently imprisoned in Adiala jail in a 190 million-pound corruption case. He also faces trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act linked to the events of May 9, 2023. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) has repeatedly voiced concerns regarding his health while in detention, Dawn noted.
In her recent statement, Noreen characterized Imran Khan’s treatment as physical and mental abuse. She pointed out that the extended period of incarceration in solitary confinement violates the rules laid out in the Jail Manual. Noreen referenced Army Chief General Munir by saying, “He thinks he’s all-powerful, but he’s still not. Because in our religion, there is nobody more powerful than the God.”
As reported by the media, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has filed a petition against the Adiala Jail Superintendent and other officials for contempt of court because they failed to comply with the Islamabad High Court(IHC)’s directive to provide Imran with visits from family members twice a week.
Imran Khan has remained at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi since August 2023. Earlier on Wednesday, Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail authorities publicly stated that he was in good health and had not been moved from the facility. Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been at the forefront of the nation’s political scene for over a decade.
