Delhi Pollution: Air pollution in the capital city has reached critical levels on Tuesday, with the AQI exceeding 300 in most of the areas. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 400.

Delhi Pollution: Severe cold wave conditions are intensifying in Delhi and adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) with the temperature at Safdarjung dropping to 3.2°C. The India(BHARAT) Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for cold wave conditions for today. Dense fog also enveloped the region, further reducing the visibility and causing travel disruptions. Amid the double attack of the cold wave and dense fog conditions, the air pollution in the capital city is steadily increasing in many areas. The Air Quality Index has reached the severe category in several areas. Most parts of the capital recorded an AQI above 300, plunging the category to ‘very poor’. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 400.

Delhi Pollution: Area-Wise AQI

According to the SAMEER app, (6 am data), several areas in the national capital plunged to red zone, after AQI recorded above 300. The AQI in Rohini was recorded at 388, Bawana recorded 376 AQI, AQI in Jahangirpuri stood at 371, Dwarka Sector-8 recorded 370 AQI, Nehru Nagar reported an AQI of 369, AQI in Wazirpur was 369, Patparganj recorded 361, 359 in Vivek Vihar, 357 in RK Puram, 352 in Punjabi Bagh, 360 in Ashok Vihar, 336 in DTU , 335 in Sirifort , 332 in ITO , 327 in Dilshad Garden , 326 in Dr. Karni Singh , 321 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium , 320 in Alipur and 299 in North Campus.

Severe cold wave conditions continue to sweep across Delhi-NCR, pushing night time temperature to freezing. The IMD has issued an orange alert for today, informing that several parts of the national capital continue to experience severe cold wave conditions. Dense fog also enveloped the region, further reducing the visibility and causing travel disruptions.

Cold Wave Warning

The weather department informed us that severe cold wave conditions will persist in parts of North India(BHARAT). It has also issued a red warning for severe cold wave and dense fog conditions in Punjab and Haryana.
Dense Fog Warning
Dense to very dense fog is expected to envelope parts of Punjab, Haryana and northern Rajasthan. Patchy fog is expected across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh during the morning hours. Poor visibility during early morning is expected to affect road, rail and air travel across several regions.
