New Delhi: In a major development, the Modi government has started the work to build an expressway from AIIMS to Gurugram via Mahipalpur. The expressway will improve the connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram. The work on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already started. The DPR will include a feasibility report and specify which portions of the route will be underground and which will be elevated.
It is important to note that the stretch from AIIMS to Mahipalpur could be underground, while the remaining section may be elevated. Currently, it takes at least one and a half hours to travel from AIIMS to Gurugram’s Sirhaul border during peak hours.

- It will be an approximately 35-kilometre-long signal-free expressway.
