Pakistani security forces fire on TLP protesters in Lahore, over 10 killed during march
TLP rose to prominence in 2017 when it launched a successful protest and forced the government to reverse its decisions regarding changes in the oath for parliamentarians.
At least 10 members of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) were killed in Lahore after paramilitary Rangers opened fire on protesters early Monday morning. The firing took place during an operation launched before dawn to disperse demonstrators who had gathered for a planned march towards Islamabad.
According to reports, over 50 policemen sustained injuries during the clashes. Meanwhile, unrest spread to Muridke, where tensions intensified between law enforcement personnel and TLP supporters.
