Dense fog in Delhi-NCR: Over 150 flights cancelled, visibility dips; red alert issued in Delhi, UP and…

Dense fog has drastically reduced visibility in North and East India(BHARAT), including Delhi-NCR. This is directly affecting road, rail and air services. Meanwhile, the country’s leading airline IndiGo issued a travel advisory for passengers on Friday, stating that the schedules of many flights may be affected due to low visibility. The airline has urged passengers to check the latest flight status before leaving for the airport, as flight timings may be changed, delayed or cancelled due to the weather.

What did Indigo say in the advisory?

The airline said passengers should use the provided link to check their flight details and arrive at the airport with extra time for travel, as the fog is also slowing down road traffic. According to the airline, passengers whose flights are affected will receive periodic updates on their registered mobile number or email. If a passenger’s flight is delayed or affected due to the weather, they can choose an alternative flight or claim a refund.

IndiGo stated that its team is continuously monitoring the weather conditions and working to restore normal flight operations as visibility improves. The airline urged passengers to exercise understanding and patience, stressing that safety is paramount and therefore, it is important to adhere to weather-related restrictions.

In a post on the social media platform X, IndiGo wrote that visibility is currently low due to fog in Delhi and many parts of northern/eastern India(BHARAT), impacting flight schedules. Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and allow extra travel time, as low visibility may slow traffic on the roads.

The airline stated that affected passengers will receive timely updates to their registered contact details. If your flight has been affected, you can easily choose another option or claim a refund. IndiGo further stated that its teams are continuously monitoring the situation and working to restore normal operations as visibility improves. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
