About Ikkis
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and set for release on December 25, the story of Ikkis centres around the valour of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, the Param Vir Chakra awardee who displayed extraordinary courage in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The film has generated strong anticipation not only for its story but also for introducing two star-kids, Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, and Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece. Both newcomers have spoken about the support they received from their families. In the film, Dharmendra has played the role of the older Arun Khetrapal.
The ensemble also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Raaz, bringing weight to this wartime story. In their tribute post, Maddock Films wrote, “To nine decades of an icon who showed us that real greatness begins with humility (sic).”
