Dino Morea Dismisses Feud With John Abraham After Break Up With Bipasha Basu: ‘People Thought…’

Both John Abraham and Dino Morea made the switch from modelling to acting in the early 2000s. However, because of their shared past with Bipasha Basu which acted like fuel to fire, their alleged competition as supermodels frequently made headlines. Surprisingly, Dino made it known in a recent interview that he and John were still friends and that there was no ill will between them. He also talked about how his past relationship with Bipasha ended during Raaz‘s shooting.

Dino Morea’s Dynamic With John Abraham

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on one of his podcasts, Dino talked about his dynamic with John. He said, “We never had any rivalry. We used to talk to each other and have fun with each other. The talk about the rivalry between us started in people’s minds after I broke up with Bipasha and he started dating Bipasha. People started thinking that he was dating my girlfriend, so there was a rivalry, media also fueled this. But there has never been any rivalry. We both have been on our own paths. Only yesterday I texted him, ‘Are we going for a bike ride or a coffee?’ I don’t think we have a rivalry. I am happy to see where he is today. Because at that point when we were starting out people used to say models can’t act and we proved them wrong. John has done really well. I take my hat off for that guy, he has conducted himself well.”

When did it all happen?

Dino revealed the timeline and chronology of the alleged love triangle between the actors and how Bipasha and John’s relationship started almost a year after his breakup with her. “I am clarifying it after years. Me and Bipasha broke up and almost one year after that they started dating, and I had started dating somebody else. So, why would there be any animosity? People thought that John took my girlfriend but it was nothing like that. The three of us used to talk but people made it into something else,” he said.

Talking about how he met with Bipasha, Dino disclosed that they were introduced by a mutual friend, and hit it off instantly and had great chemistry. He thinks his relationship with her went great. The actor added that they had a good impact on each other. Dino while talking about his breakup revealed how shooting of Raaz was a tough phase in his life; he mentioned, “When we were working on Raaz, we were more or less over in terms of relationship. It was very difficult. But after Raaz when we did Gunaah that was the toughest time because we were breaking up, it was over.”

More recently, John’s fandom was reinstated by his performance in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer blockbuster Pathaan. Dino expressed how he is so happy for John and how he has paved the way for models to be taken as actors seriously. It breaks the perception that “models can’t act”, as he points out “it proved that models can act, and films with models can be a hit”.
