Disneyland brings several special events to the park this spring.

Walt Disney  (DIS) - Get Free Report theme parks host different events throughout the year to keep guests having new and unique experiences . Disney World even takes the scariest holiday of the year and keeps it kid and family friendly.

Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida has Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party geared toward younger guests. Iconic Disney characters are all dressed up in costumes for Halloween and there is trick or treating throughout the park. Park guests are encouraged to even come to the park in costume. The Magic Kingdom even has a parade for guests during this ghostly part of the year, and it runs from August until October each year.

Halloween is not the only time Disney offers new attractions after dark. It offers new attractions throughout the year that are best to experience after the sun goes down. All Disney theme parks offer entertainment and specials. Disneyland After Dark offers more entertainment in the evening hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Disneyland Hosts New After Dark Spectaculars

Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., is offering two new Disney After Dark attractions in the spring. What better way to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary than attending two new evening spectacular themed attractions, with the first soirée a Throwback Nite to the 1950’s and 1960’s offered April 18 and 20. The entertainment will feature a much-loved pastime of Disney music all playing homage to the first decade that Disneyland Park was opened. Disney characters will rock their retro outfits from the past decades, which will be great for photo ops!

Disneyland will also offer another attraction that will really light up the galaxy with Disney After Dark: Star Wars Nite on May 2, 4, 8 and 11. The event will feature a Stormtrooper march of the First Order in Tomorrowland that has the Dark Side searching for a Resistance spy. Park guests are invited to attend a Lightsaber Instructional demonstration. Get ready for a chance to get your picture taken in an out of this world galactic set up with heroes and villains.

Theme Park reservations are not required to attend, however only a limited number of tickets are available to the public. Pricing to attend the Disney After Dark: Star Wars Nite vary between $149-169 per guest for ages three and up and only $129 - $149 for the Throwback Nite. The prices vary on which date you attend. The pricing includes the Disneyland Park admission starting at 6 p.m. or up to three hours before the event starts at 9 p.m. The event end at 1 a.m. Parking fees are not included. As always dressing up in costume is encouraged, but not required!

Tickets for Disney Magic Key holders will go on sale Feb. 2, and Feb. 23 for the general public.

Princess Celebration Proceeds After Dark

Disneyland has another After Dark special that celebrates the fan favorite Disney princesses. This celebration will be on March 7 and March 9, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with preparty from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This spectacular of royal surprises will host Disney’s princesses out and about in magical backdrops ready to have their pictures taken with park guests. The nights will feature music, dancing, and scrumptious treats fit for royalty from Disneyland’s Cafe Orleans.

Tickets are already on sale for these special nights and prices are $129 for all guests ages three and up. The Disneyland After Dark: Princess Nite on March 7 no longer has tickets available, according to the park’s website. Disney guests may only purchase up to eight tickets at a time for the event. 

The after-hours events give guests an opportunity to check out more attractions in less time, since there are generally shorter wait times. Guests of any of the Disney After Dark events will receive a commemorative credential, guide map and unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass during the party.
