Ektaa Kapoor on 'Thank You For Coming': 'Being the only Indian film at the Gala Premiere at TIFF is encouraging'

Ektaa R Kapoor is fresh off the success of Dream Girl 2 and is now gearing up for Thank You For Coming that stars Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila among others. It’s all set to have its premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. Talking about it, the producer and filmmaker said, “Thank You For Coming’ is an important film for me because it touches upon a crucial aspect of women’s sensuality in a fun yet realistic way. I have enjoyed backing projects where the female leads are taking control of their lives, and you will see the same happening in this film too..”

She added, “Being selected as the only Indian film at the Gala Premiere at TIFF has been extremely encouraging for the team! I think as a Producer when you get recognised for doing something out of the box time and again, it only inspires me to keep pushing the envelope.”

Ektaa R Kapoor will join producer-actor Anil Kapoor, the star cast Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, Shibani Bedi and director Karan Boolan for this event.

Talking about attending TIFF 2023, Anil Kapoor shared, “I’ve been wanting to attend TIFF ever since Slumdog Millionaire! That year, I traveled to pretty much all the celebrated festivals for Slumdog – from BFI at London to Cannes and everything in between. The only festival I couldn’t attend then was TIFF and that was only because my visa didn’t arrive in time for me to be there. So TIFF has been on my bucket list ever since! I may not have been able to attend the festival then as part of the cast of a movie, but this year I get to be there in the capacity of a proud producer! Thank You For Coming has so much heart, soul and sass, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it’s showcase on such a hallowed platform!”
