General David Allvin, US Air Force Chief, takes shocking decision, announces retirement two years…

New Delhi: The Chief of Staff of the US Air Force announced on Monday, August 18, that he is going to retire in the coming months. However, he did not give any reason for this. This announcement of General David Allvin is surprising because he will retire two years into a four-year term. This marks the latest early ouster of a senior military officer under President Doland Trump.

Will retire around November 1

General Allvin said in a statement, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the 23rd Air Force Chief of Staff and thank (Air Force) Secretary Mink, Secretary Hegseth and President Trump for their trust.” He said that he will retire around November 1.

It is unclear whether General Allvin has decided to retire on his own or at the behest of Pentagon leaders, such as Defence Minister Pete Hegseth. The Defense Minister’s office has not responded to this.

Pete Hegseth has removed several military officers

It is noteworthy that since taking office in January, Hegseth has removed several senior military officers, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Chief of the US Navy, and the Judge Advocates General of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The Air Force issued a statement, saying that Allvin had announced that he plans to retire in early November. However, no successor has been announced, and Allvin will continue to serve until one is confirmed by the Senate.
