Google AI Plus LAUNCHED in India with Nano Banana Pro access, monthly plan starts at Rs…, Here’s what subscription offers

US tech company Google launched Google AI Plus in India(BHARAT) on Wednesday. This is a new subscription plan that gives users access to Google’s latest AI models, creative tools and other upgraded features. Google said the plan includes wider access to Gemini 3 Pro inside the Gemini app. It also offers better image and video creation tools like Nano Banana Pro and Flow, which can help people create visuals more easily and improve their productivity. Moreover, it provides 200 monthly AI credits to subscribers to be utilised for video and content generation on the Flow and Whisk apps.

The subscription brings Gemini into everyday Google apps such as Gmail and Google Docs, so users can get AI help while writing emails or documents. It also adds more cloud storage and lets people share the plan with family members.

Users will also get extended access to NotebookLM, a tool made for deeper research and detailed analysis.

Subscribers receive 200 GB of storage shared across Google Photos, Drive and Gmail. The plan’s benefits can be shared with up to five family members. Google said the goal is to make powerful AI tools available at a reasonable price.

Google AI Plus costs Rs. 399 per month, but new users can get it at a special price of Rs. 199 per month for the first six months.

According to Google, the plan gives people an easy and affordable way to use advanced AI features to improve their work and creativity.

In November, Google announced a new safety-focused plan for India(BHARAT), putting children, teenagers and senior citizens at the centre of its AI protection strategy.

As part of this effort, the company introduced several safety tools — including real-time scam alerts on devices, AI-generated text watermarking, and digital literacy programmes — to make artificial intelligence safer and easier to use.

One of the key features is ‘Scam Detection’, which runs on Gemini Nano. It will be launched first on Google Pixel phones. The tool listens to calls in real time on the device itself and warns users if the call seems like a scam. Importantly, the audio or transcripts are not recorded or sent to Google, keeping the user’s privacy intact.

Google said the feature will remain off by default. It will work only for calls coming from numbers that are not saved in the contact list. When activated, it plays a small beep so everyone on the call knows the tool is running. Users can switch it off anytime.
