Google Photos is coming to Samsung AI TVs, bringing smarter viewing, curated memories, and AI enhancements
Google Photos is arriving on Samsung AI TVs, bringing smart viewing, curated memories, and AI-powered features that let users relive photos and videos seamlessly on the big screen.
Samsung and Google are reportedly working on adding Google Photos support to Samsung AI TVs. The feature will reportedly be available to all AI TV models. It will reportedly allow users to view their saved photos and videos from their Google Photos library.
Viewing Photos with Google Photos on Samsung AI TVs
Users have had to cast their Photos library or use mirroring (screen casting) from their phone or tablet to a TV for viewing photos on the big screen. This solution is going to change with the addition of Google Photos direct support on Samsung’s AI-powered TVs.
Users will reportedly only have to sign in to their Google account from a Samsung Smart TV and they will be able to view their media from the Photos library. The integration is also reportedly going to be tied into Samsung’s Vision AI Companion (Samsung’s suite of AI-powered features that are already available on its current AI TV models). So, contextually relevant photos and videos will be surfaced from the Photos library in a way that will make it possible to find memories and recollections from family, friends, events, places, and moments.
Curated Memories and Other AI Features
Samsung and Google are reportedly working to add the following smart features to the Google Photos on Samsung AI TVs experience:
Curated Memories: A feature that’s slated to be released in early 2026, the feature is expected to automatically organise themed collections, like vacations, birthdays, or family gatherings. This will allow users to instantly revisit the highlights and save the time of scrolling through a long list of photos to find them.
AI-Driven Discovery: Smart features from Vision AI Companion will reportedly intelligently suggest photos in ways that are based on context and user habits. This can make relevant memories automatically pop up in natural ways throughout the day.
Creative Tools: Later in 2026, Google reportedly plans to add Google’s image-generating tech (powered by Gemini Nano Banana) that will allow users to create stylised edits, short animated clips, and refreshed visuals with ease right from their TV screens.
The release date and availability of the Google Photos for Samsung AI TVs support
The integration of the Google Photos on Samsung AI TVs will reportedly roll out with select Samsung AI TV models in early 2026. Support for the feature will reportedly be expanded to include older Samsung Smart TVs that are compatible in March of 2026.
Samsung AI TVs
Samsung’s AI TVs already provide users with a suite of advanced smart features, including but not limited to voice control, personalised recommendations, and AI-optimised picture and sound. The features have been making Samsung’s AI TVs some of the most advanced smart TVs on the market.
Bringing Google Photos on the Big Screen
The addition of Google Photos support to Samsung’s AI TVs not only makes it easy for users to save time while viewing their saved photos and videos, but also to seamlessly interact with their Photos library. The move could further expand the appeal of Samsung’s AI TVs, especially to users that use Google’s ecosystem.
Google Photos on Samsung AI TVs Reminds Us of Why Memories Matter
Seeing memories on the big screen from the comfort of your home makes them feel more present. Instead of awkwardly fumbling casting or mirroring from a phone or tablet, users will now enjoy a seamless way to view photo libraries and share moments with friends and family.
Smart TVs are evolving from entertainment hubs to the central screen in a household. Additions like Google Photos support on Samsung AI TVs will soon become a “must-have” feature and not a “nice-to-have” feature. The move by Samsung and Google is a clear step in that direction. It also signals the beginning of the integration of AI, cloud services, and big screen immersion.
