Noida techie death case: In a big action in the Noida techie death case, the government has removed Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) India(BHARAT)n Administrative Service officer M Lokesh. IAS M Lokesh is an 2005 batch India(BHARAT)n Administrative Service (IAS) officer who was deployed as the the Noida Authority CEO in 2023 replacing Ritu Maheshwari. Notably, Yuvraj Mehta, a young techie who worked as a software engineer died after his car plunged into a water-filled ditch amid dense fog in Noida.
Who is IAS M Lokesh, the Noida Authority CEO removed by government?
As mentioned earlier, IAS M Lokesh is an 2005 batch India(BHARAT)n Administrative Service (IAS) officer who was appointed as IAS on August 22, 2005. Appointed as IAS on August 22, 2005, M Lokesh had various postings, including Assistant Magistrate in Aligarh, Joint Magistrate in Saharanpur, and Chief Development Officer in Allahabad. His first District Magistrate posting was in Kaushambi on May 27, 2009.
Dr. Lokesh M, born on April 3, 1976, in Bengaluru, initially pursued medicine and became a dental doctor after completing his BDS. He then cleared the UPSC exam in 2005 and joined the India(BHARAT)n Administrative Service (IAS).
Major actions in Noida techie death case
Earlier on Sunday, the Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer, now former, Lokesh M ordered strict action in the case and directed the immediate termination of the services of junior engineer Naveen Kumar of the Noida Traffic Cell, a PTI report said.
Additionally, show-cause notices were also issued to other relevant officers and employees responsible for traffic management in and around Sector 150, the report added.
What reasons led to Noida techie’s death?
Stating that negligence of safety norms at construction sites would not be tolerated, the authority said all departments have been instructed to re-inspect safety measures at ongoing construction projects in their respective areas to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
