Has India stopped buying oil from Russia? Donald Trump makes BIG claim, says Modi government has completely…, China has also…
Donald Trump also said that issues such as agricultural trade and fentanyl production components coming from China would be raised during the discussion.
New Delhi: In a major development, US President Doland Trump has claimed that the Narendra Modi government has completely stopped importing oil from Russia and China has also significantly slashed its purchases of Russian oil. Trump made this announcement while declaring new U.S. sanctions on Moscow’s oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil. Trump asserted that India(BHARAT) has entirely halted oil purchases from Russia, and China has also reduced its imports.
Speaking to the media on Air Force One, Trump said, “You have seen that China has drastically cut its purchases of Russian oil, and India(BHARAT) has completely stopped. We have imposed sanctions.”
India(BHARAT) rejects Trump’s claims
The Modi India(BHARAT)n government, on the other hand, has repeatedly rejected Trump’s claim. India(BHARAT) maintains that its stance on energy imports is based on “protecting national interests” and that it is not under any external pressure.
It is important to note that Doland Trump made this statement ahead of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea. The meeting is taking place amid ongoing tensions over trade, technology, and raw materials. He said that the talks are expected to lead to a comprehensive agreement, potentially putting an end to the long-running trade war.
Trump also said that issues such as agricultural trade and fentanyl production components coming from China would be raised during the discussion. He stated, “Fentanyl is taking many lives, and it comes from China.”
