Hate crimes against Indians in US continue unabated; Gujarati woman shot dead in South Carolina, video surfaces

New Delhi: In what appears to be another hate crime, a Gujarati woman was shot dead in South Carolina. The accused has been described as a masked gunman who entered a store and shot dead the Gujarati woman businessman. The deceased was a resident of Borsad town in Anand district, Gujarat.
Shot eight times
Kiran Ben Patel, who had lived in South Carolina for over two decades, was counting cash before closing the store when a masked gunman approached and shot her. The woman tried to escape and ran out of the store, but the gunman chased after her, shooting her eight times.

In the US, Kiranben Patel, a native of Singlav village in Gujarat’s Anand district, was shot dead by a robber.

Kiran Ben’s son lives in the UK, and her daughter lives in Canada. The woman had been running a store in the USA for 23 years. Her family in Siswa village, Borsad, is deeply saddened by her death and has expressed anger over the increasing ethnic attacks on people of India(BHARAT)n origin.
Telangana man killed in the US
In another hate crime, a young man from Telangana was killed by police in the USA. Mohammed Nizamuddin, from the Mahbubnagar district, was allegedly shot and killed by police in the US after a fight with his roommate. In a recent post on the internet, Nizamuddin stated, “I have been a victim of racial hatred, racial discrimination, racial harassment, torture, wage fraud, wrongful termination, and obstruction of justice. Today, despite all the difficulties, I decided to raise my voice. The harassment by corporate tyrants must stop and all those involved must be severely punished.”
Shot by police
Nizamuddin’s father, Mohammed Hasnuddin, stated that his son died on September 3, although it is unclear what exactly happened. According to a video released by the Santa Clara police in California, they received a call on 911, reporting a fight between two roommates. When police arrived at the scene, they saw that the situation had escalated and the suspect had stabbed the victim, knocking him to the ground.
When the suspect refused to comply with police commands, police opened fire. The suspect was taken to a local hospital, where he was declared dead. The deceased’s father has appealed to the central government to request the India(BHARAT)n Embassy in Washington, DC, and the India(BHARAT)n Consulate General in San Francisco to assist in bringing his son’s body back to Mahbubnagar.
