Heavy fighting breaks out between Pakistan and Afghanistan at Durand Line, drones and missiles fired

New Delhi: War has broken out again between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The two armies once again clashed at the Durand Line on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, evening. According to a report by TOLOnews, the Pakistani army dropped bombs in several areas of Afghanistan, and in response, Taliban fighters attacked several Pakistani posts. Fierce clashes ensued between the two armies, with drones and missiles being used.

Pakistan released thermal footage of the drone strike on a Taliban military post. Pakistan claimed it was carried out to prevent terrorist activities within Afghan territory. However, Afghanistan retorted, claiming that Pakistan launched the initial attack and that its troops are now engaged in a strong retaliatory action.

Pakistani drones over Afghan skies

Mustaghfar Gurbaz, spokesman for the governor of Khost province, told TOLOnews that at around 7 p.m., Afghan forces foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistani troops in the Palochi area of Jaji Maidan district. According to him, the Pakistani army attempted to attack first but failed. “We responded immediately, and clashes are still ongoing.” According to local reports, Pakistani drones have been seen hovering over several Afghan cities, raising a new war crisis between the two countries.

Fazlur Rehman offers peace talks

Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has stated that he is ready to mediate peace talks between the two countries, but the war must first be stopped. He said that in such circumstances, talks will be fruitless. First, a ceasefire and then an end to the propaganda war are necessary. Fazlur Rehman admitted that Pakistan and Afghanistan are very important for each other, but if firing continues on the border, then the people of both countries will suffer the biggest loss.
