As the national capital continues to witness temperatures dip, the air quality of the city has started to worsen significantly. Raising concerns among residents and environmental experts alike, the pollution is expected to severely impact the children and those affected by breathing problems.
As seen by media report, a dense layer of smog is gradually blanketing Delhi, with several parts of the city now experiencing poor air quality levels.

The average Air Quality Index (AQI) across Delhi stood at 201, falling into the ‘Poor’ category as per the data recorded on Tuesday morning. The data clearly indicated that most areas in the city are currently witnessing AQI levels ranging between 200 and 300, indicating a clear decline in air quality as winter sets in.
What has IMD predicted on pollution rise?
Recent data from the India(BHARAT) Meteorological Department (IMD) suggests that this trend is likely to continue. On Monday, Delhi recorded an AQI of 189, up from 167 on Sunday, both of which fall under the ‘Moderate’ category.

2. Strict ban will be imposed on labour-intensive construction activities along with mandatory water sprinkling at all industrial project sites.
3. Immediate stoppage of all garbage-burning activities.
4. Ban on open burning of waste, including garbage, biomass, and municipal solid waste.
5. Limit on black carbon emission audits for heavy vehicles.
6. Power plants within 10 km of Delhi to switch to 100% piped natural gas.
