HIGH ALERT in Hyderabad after 2 international flights receive bomb threats, multiple threats in 3 days

Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport of Hyderabad was put on high alert after two international flights received a bomb threat on Saturday via emails. As per Hyderabad Airport GMR, an unidentified person sent threat emails to blow up the British Airways flight number 277 and Kuwait Airways flight number 373. The BA 277 which was bound from Heathrow to Hyderabad landed at around 5.25 am. The airport officials immediately initiated the standard safety protocols.

KU 373, which was travelling from Kuwait to Hyderabad, turned mid-air and returned to its departure airport, Hyderabad Airport as a precautionary measure.

“On 6th December 2025, a Bomb threat email was received on Hyderabad airport customer support id for flight BA 277 (Heathrow to Hyderabad). The Flight landed safely in HYD at 5:25AM. Standard safety protocols were initiated,” said Hyderabad Airport GMR, news agency tweeted.

“On 6th December 2025, a Bomb threat email was received on Hyd airport customer support id for flight KU 373/ (Kuwait to Hyderabad) KWI-Hyd. The Flight returned back to departure airport,” added Hyderabad Airport GMR.

The threats were sent through an email to the airport customer support.

The threats emails came after similar bomb threats were received earlier this week. On Friday, the Hyderabad airport received an email threatening of exploding flight AI 2879. The flight was travelling from Delhi, flight EK526 was travelling from Dubai. However, the bomb threats declared as hoax.

“On 5th December 2025, a bomb threat email was received on Hyderabad airport customer support id for flight AI 2879 (Delhi to Hyd). The flight landed safely in Hyd at 8:45PM. Standard safety protocols were initiated,” said Hyderabad Airport GMR.

On Thursday, an IndiGo flight (flight number EK526) received a bomb threat after which it made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport. The flight was going from Medina to Hyderabad.

According to GMR PRO, the threat message was sent to Hyderabad Airport customer support at around 7:30 in the morning. The flight carrying passengers continued its journey and landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
