Mumbai: The Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra govt on Sunday decided to withdraw two GRs (govt orders) on the implementation of the three-language policy. This comes amid a rising chorus against the introduction of the Hindi language in Maharashtra colleges from classes 1 to five. Fadnavis Slams Uddhav Thackeray:

Fadnavis acknowledged the then CM Thackeray had appointed an 18-member Mashelkar Committee on September 21, 2020, comprising reputed figures from the educational sector, on implement the NEP. A GR used to be issued on October 16, 2020.
