New Delhi: The brutal lynching of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh has shocked the world. Now, a statement has come from Bangladeshi officials in this case, stating that no direct evidence has been found to support the blasphemy allegations against Dipu Chandra Das. It has also not been proven that the deceased made any comments that hurt religious sentiments.

What Happened With Dipu Chandra Das?

Dipu was brutally murdered by an angry mob in the Bhaluka area of Mymensingh district in Bangladesh on charges of alleged blasphemy. According to eyewitnesses, he was first severely beaten, and then his body was hung from a tree and set on fire. Most horrifyingly, thousands of people were recording the incident on their phones.

Speaking to the Bangladeshi media platform Daily Star, Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, the company commander of the Rapid Action Battalion in Mymensingh, said that no evidence has emerged to suggest that the deceased wrote anything on Facebook that hurt people’s sentiments. He also said that his colleagues at the factory where he worked could not confirm any such activity.
