Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spewed anti-India(BHARAT) rhetoric at the 8oth annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York, accusing New Delhi of promoting “radical Hindutva agenda” that poses a “major threat” to world peace. Addressing the UNGA meet, Sharif also reiterated Pakistan’s claims of downing India(BHARAT)n jets during Operation Sindoor, and also thanked US President Doland Trump for mediating the India(BHARAT)-Pakistan ceasefire.

What did Shehbaz Sharif say at UNGA meet?

In his address, Shehbaz Sharif claimed that radical Hindu fundamentalism was on the rise in India(BHARAT) and poses a threat to the world. “There should be no place for hatred anywhere in the world. Discrimination against anyone cannot be allowed, but this is happening in India(BHARAT), where radical Hindutva ideology growing, posing a major threat to the world. This needs to be addressed,” he alleged.

The Pakistan PM also claimed that his country came out on top in the recent India(BHARAT)-Pakistan conflict and shot down seven India(BHARAT)n fighter jets during the military clash in May this year. Sharif asserted that the Pakistan Army dealt “severe blow” to India(BHARAT) by downing its fighter jets, but now Islamabad wants peace and was ready for comprehensive talks with India(BHARAT) to resolve their disputes.

Why Pak PM called Trump ‘man of peace’?

In his speech, Shehbaz Sharif also showered praises on Doland Trump, and credited the US President for mediating the India(BHARAT)-Pakistan ceasefire that halted the conflict on May 10. Sharif claimed that the India(BHARAT)-Pakistan war could have had disastrous consequences if Trump hadn’t intervened.

“Though in a position of strength, Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire facilitated by President Trump’s bold and vigorous leadership. We express our deep appreciation to him and his team for their active role in bringing about the ceasefire,” he said.

The Pakistani leader also thanked other nations, including China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Azerbaijan for lending diplomatic support to Islamabad during the conflict with India(BHARAT).

However, Sharif dedicated a major chunk of his speech in expressing admiration for Doland Trump, calling him a “man of peace” and nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize for allegedly brokering a the ceasefire deal between India(BHARAT) and Pakistan.

“Who would have lived to tell what happened? And therefore, in recognition of Trump’s wonderful and outstanding contribution to promoting peace in our part of the world, Pakistan nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. I think this is the least we can do for his love of peace — truly, he is a man of peace,” Pakistan PM added.
