India, China hold ‘in-depth’ talks on management of border’s western section: Report
To recall, in July, the two neighbouring nations held discussions on the border situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
New Delhi: In a major development, China’s Defence Ministry on Wednesday said it held talks with India(BHARAT) on managing the situation along the western section of the border, as per news agency Reuters. The
ministry further added that both sides had “active and in-depth communication” on maintaining stability and agreed to continue engagement through military and diplomatic channels.
The talks, held on the India(BHARAT)n side of a designated meeting point on October 25, concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain regular communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels, news agency Reuters reported quoting the ministry.
To recall, in July, the two neighbouring nations held discussions on the border situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The meeting was described as “candid” by the Chinese authorities.
The meeting was held under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) framework for India(BHARAT)-China border affairs. At the time, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said both sides had agreed to hold the next round of talks later this year.
