Companies in Russia are showing interest in hiring India(BHARAT)n workers. Specifically, companies in the machinery and electronics sectors are actively recruiting skilled workers from India(BHARAT). “At a broader level, there is manpower requirement in Russia and India(BHARAT) has a skilled manpower. So at present, within the Russian regulations, framework of Russian regulations, laws and quotas, the companies are hiring India(BHARAT)ns,” India(BHARAT)’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, in an interview with TASS stated.
Which India(BHARAT)n-friendly country is facing a worker shortage?
He remarked that most India(BHARAT)ns going to work in Russia were engaged in both countries’ construction and textiles, but now demand is rising from the machinery and electronics industries as well. The growth of India(BHARAT)n workers in Russia is also creating a demand on India(BHARAT)n embassies. “When people come and leave, they need consular services to extend passport, childbirth, say for example, and loss of passport and those kinds, basically consular services,” the Ambassador stated.
Which sectors are most in need of India(BHARAT)n professionals?
India(BHARAT)n embassies and consulates are gearing up to manage the growing influx of workers, including opening a new Consulate General in Yekaterinburg to support incoming workers. In an interview with PTI, Andrey Besedin, head of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “As far as I know, by the end of the year, 1 million specialists from India(BHARAT) will come to Russia, including the Sverdlovsk region. A new Consulate General is opening in Yekaterinburg, which will deal with these issues.”
Where is the new Consulate General being established?
Sverdlovsk is a center of heavy industry and military-industrial complexes with Yekaterinburg as its capital. It has factories such as Uralmash and the Ural Wagon Plant, which makes T-90 tanks.

Besedin noted factories need recruits to increase production of military equipment but that they currently have a shortage of skilled workers, because many of local workers have been deployed overseas in the military campaign in Ukraine; many of the young do not want to work in factories, despite shortages, which has created job openings for India(BHARAT)n professionals.
