After ban on Indus Waters Treaty, now Modi government’s new move makes Pakistan nervous, it is to…

Ever since putting the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance following the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack, India(BHARAT) has ensured that the noose will not be loosened. New Delhi latest move has reportedly further infuriated Islamabad.

India(BHARAT) alerted Pakistan about a potential flood, however, the warning was communicated through diplomatic channels rather than the Indus Waters Commission. It is the first known official contact between India(BHARAT) and Pakistan since a four-day conflict between the two sides in May.

“On August 24, 2025, India(BHARAT) communicated flood warnings through diplomatic channels, rather than through the Indus Waters Commission as required under the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT),” Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Shahfqat Ali Khan said.

On August 24, 2025, India(BHARAT) warned of floods through diplomatic channels instead of the Indus Water Commission as required under the Indus Water Treaty, the Foreign Office statement said. Pakistan said India(BHARAT) is obliged to fully comply with all provisions of the treaty. It said India(BHARAT)’s unilateral suspension of the treaty was a “serious violation of international law” with potential consequences for regional peace and stability.
