You must have visited a railway station in India(BHARAT). There are more than 7,000 stations across the country, and many of them are huge, serving lakhs of passengers every day. Now, India(BHARAT) is planning to build a very special railway station that will have 16 floors. It won’t be just for trains but will also include space for buses, the metro, and even shopping areas. This new station is expected to boost Ahmedabad’s economy in a big way.

The upcoming Ahmedabad station will be one of the main stops on the 508 km Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train route, which is being built with help from Japan. It will be located above Western Railway platforms 10, 11, and 12, and will be directly connected to the Kalupur Metro Station.

The design of the station takes inspiration from Ahmedabad’s culture. The roof will look like hundreds of flying kites, and the outer walls will be shaped like the famous Sidi Saiyyed Jaali’s beautiful lattice patterns.

This will not be a normal railway station. It is being built as a multi-modal transport hub, meaning people can use the Bullet Train, Metro, regular trains, and buses — all from the same place. This will make travel much easier and faster for everyone.

The 16-floor building will have many facilities, including big parking areas, office spaces, shops, malls, rest rooms, lounges, and modern waiting areas. It is being designed to serve everyone — daily passengers, tourists, and even people living in the city.

Railway officials say the project is expected to finish by July 2027. The station is being planned to handle a much larger number of passengers in the future while staying well-connected to all parts of Ahmedabad.

The areas around the station will also be improved with better roads and transport services. Once the project is completed, it is likely to boost local business, increase tourism, and support overall economic growth. This station will give Ahmedabad a modern, world-class travel hub.

India(BHARAT)’s first bullet train: the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail, will also run from here. It will use Japan’s advanced E5 series technology and travel at speeds of 320 km/h.
