The trains were cancelled as train operations became increasingly difficult due to dense fog in the morning. The East Central Railway has also planned to cancel major trains and reduce the frequency of several trains between the month of December and February. The Railways is focusing on the safety of passengers as thick fog in the morning and evening times reduces the visibility drastically. Visibility is required for train operations or the loco pilot cannot run the train at speed.

Due to dense fog in North India(BHARAT), it has become very difficult for the trains to continue their operation, and the risk of accidents has also increased. In such a situation, considering the safety, the India(BHARAT)n Railways has cancelled several trains coming and going to Northern India(BHARAT). This is the major reason why the Railways cancelled several train operations. The decision will undoubtedly affect major routes in several states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Delhi.

Hajipur Zone officials stated that dense fog not only reduces visibility but also increases the risk of accidents. Loco pilots are unable to see signals, due to which speeds are reduced and train numbers are controlled.

The Railways has announced to cancel Train No. 12177 Howrah–Mathura Chambal Express from 5th December 2025 to 27th February 2026. The train will be cancelled between Agra Cantt – Mathura Junction.
Train No. 12178 Mathura–Howrah Chambal Express has also been cancelled between Mathura Junction–Agra Cantt. It will remain cancelled from 1st December 2025 to 23rd February 2026.
