Eight thieves take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as a criminal mastermind manipulates the police to carry out his plan – this was in the Money Heist which is Netflix’s one of favourite show.
However, something similar happened in India(BHARAT) too – that to at government Bank, the States Bank of India(BHARAT) (SBI).
How was it executed?
As per the local reports, robbers barged into the bank on Tuesday evening, tied the employees, looted and fled. The car used by them was found in Maharashtra’s Pandharpur. Acting swiftly, officials have reached the spot and a joint search operation by Karnataka and Maharashtra police is underway.
According to various reports, the robbers allegedly were wearing military uniforms and threatened the manager, cashier, and employees against pressing the alarm button. Following the incident, many people gathered outside the bank.
Before this, in June 2025, robbers looted 59 kg of pledged gold and Rs 5.2 lakh from a Canara Bank’ Vijaypura branch in Karnataka. The police arrested three key suspects, including a bank manager, in connection with Canara Bank robbery.
