IPL 2024: List of player trades, retention and rumours ahead of auction

With the ICC ODI World Cup on the horizon for international cricket teams, the focus shifts to T20 World Cup next year for most of them. Before that, there is also the matter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction which will decide squads for the 17th edition of the tournament.

IPL mini-auction, scheduled to take place on 19 December in Dubai, will see franchises iron out their teams for IPL 2024. There is no clarity on when the IPL will take place next year.

Ahead of the mini-auction, the IPL trade window is open which allows franchises to swap players with others or buy players outrightly in all-cash deals.

The last date for player retention is 26 November at 4 PM IST.

IPL Trades

So far, three trade deals have been completed. Romario Shepherd has been the only cash-deal with Devdutt Padikkal and Avesh Khan swapping teams ahead of the upcoming season.

IPL Players Released

Bowling all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius will not be part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.

IPL Retention

It has been reported that Delhi Capitals has decided to retain opener Prithvi Shaw despite his poor form last season.

IPL Rumours

It is rumoured that Hardik Pandya would return to Mumbai Indians after spending two seasons with Gujarat Titans. The blockbuster deal is reported to be an all-cash affair between the two franchises.

Kolkata Knight Riders are apparently ready to release all-rounder Shardul Thakur ahead of player auction.

Delhi Capitals have reportedly released Sarfaraz Khan and Manish Pandey ahead of mini-auction.
