Tehran: Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday said that his country is in a state of “full-scale war” with the United States, Israel, and Europe. In an interview published on the official website of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Pezeshkian said that “the West does not want the Islamic Republic to stand on its own feet.” It is important to note that the Iranian president’s remarks came at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet US President Doland Trump.

According to the reports, Netanyahu is expected to present a plan to attack Iran to the American leadership. Several reports say that Israel wants to draw the United States into a war with Iran.

President Pezeshkian said, “They do not want our country to stand on its own feet. This war is worse than the war Iraq waged against us.” Referring to the eight-year conflict of the 1980s, when Iraq under Saddam Hussein attacked Iran, the Iranian president said, “If one understands it properly, this war is far more complex and difficult than that war. During the war with Iraq, the situation was clear—they fired missiles, and we knew where to strike. Here, they are surrounding us from all sides; they are creating problems for us in terms of livelihood, culture, politics, and security every day.”

Referring to the current and potential future confrontations with the United States and Israel, Iranian officials said, “Despite all the problems we are facing, we are now far stronger—both in terms of weapons and manpower—than we were at the time of their previous attacks.”

Iranian officials emphasized, “Therefore, if they decide to launch an attack, they will naturally face a much harsher response.” Notably, Pezeshkian’s interview comes at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet US President Doland Trump in Florida.
