Is Pakistan conducting secret nuclear tests? Two earthquakes strike Pakistan within a week, experts say the reason is…

Pakistan earthquake: Two earthquakes were recorded in different parts of Pakistan over the past one week, triggering alarm bells within various quarters about the possibility of Islamabad conducting secret nuclear tests. According to National Seismological Center, an earthquake measuring magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale, struck Pakistan at around 7 PM on Sunday evening.

According to reports, Sunday’s quake, which struck at a depth of 10 meters below the earth’s crust, triggered panic among people, prompting many to run out of their homes for safety. However, no casualties or major damage was reported when last reports came in.

Earlier, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Karachi on Wednesday, triggering panic in the Pakistani city.

Is Pakistan conducting nuclear tests?

While earthquakes, especially of lower magnitudes, are often tell-tale signs of a nuclear blast, seismological experts believe the recent tremors felt in Pakistan were a natural phenomenon and not a result of a nuclear test as some have claimed.

As per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, seven kilometers northwest of Malir near Karachi on October 2. Earlier, on September 16, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake was recorded in the country.

Why Pakistan is prone to earthquakes?

As per experts, Pakistan is one of most earthquake-prone countries on the planet because it is located on top a seismic zone where  India(BHARAT)n and Eurasian tectonic plates collide. Pakistan’s geological location make its highly vulnerable to seismic activity, with the region often witnessing devastating earthquakes that wreak major damage.

Pakistan is home to some of world’s most earthquake-prone zones, such as Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, which witnessed turbulent seismic activity due to being located along major fault lines like the Main Central Thrust. The Sindh and Punjab regions in Pakistan are also highly prone to tremors due to tectonic collisions.
