United States: The problems of racial justice and inequality continue to be a major challenge faced by people in the United States. These are core problems for the US residents. This problem further impacts healthcare facilities, education, voting rights, and the criminal justice system of the citizens. According to the NAACP, “65% of Black adults have felt targeted because of their race. Similarly, approximately 35% of Latino and Asian adults have felt targeted because of race.” As per a report by the Sentencing Project, the imprisonment of Black Americans in state prisons is around five times the rate of White Americans.

What do the United States’ economists say?

As per a survey of 2021, which was conducted on 1,422 people of the American Economic Association, the results suggested that almost 78% of professional economists believed that the differences in economic outcomes between Whites and Blacks in the US  are largely due to the continuation of discriminatory standards.

The Human Rights Watch stated, “Racial justice remained a pressing human rights concern in the United States in 2024. The US ratified the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination nearly 60 years ago but has done far too little to implement its provisions.”
