Jackpot for THIS Indian state, massive GOLD reserves discovered again in…, survey to be conducted from…

New Delhi: In a major development, a gold reserve has been discovered in Banswara, a tribal district of Rajasthan for the third consecutive time. As per survey conducted by the Geological Survey of India(BHARAT) (GSI), an estimated 1.20 tonnes of gold reserves have been found across a stretch of about three kilometers near four villages in the Kankaria region of the district. According to the reports, indications of copper, cobalt, and other mineral deposits have also been found.

The government has decided to conduct an in-depth survey of the area following GSI’s preliminary investigation. For this, the central government had invited applications from various private companies. The last date for submitting applications was October 14, and the bids will be opened on November 3. After that, the company offering the highest bid will be issued a license to conduct a detailed survey in the area. The survey work is expected to be completed in about three years.

Here are some of the key details:

  • An extensive investigation will be carried out in Kankariya, Delwara Ravna, Delwara, and Dungariyapada of Banswara.
  • The survey is expected to take around three years to complete.
  • In GSI’s preliminary study, indications of 1.20 tonnes of gold, along with around 1,000 tonnes of copper and cobalt, have been found.
  • Earlier in Banswara’s Bhukia and Jagpura regions, the GSI had discovered gold reserves estimated at 11.48 crore tonnes.
  • With the estimated gold reserves in Banswara, Rajasthan will become the second state in the country where gold will be mined continuously.
  • This will give Rajasthan a share of over 25 percent in India(BHARAT)’s total gold production.
  • Currently, gold mining is taking place in Karnataka’s Hutti and Kolar Gold Fields.
