Japan issues tsunami advisory following 6.7 magnitude quake, meteorological agency issues advisory
The quake struck around 5:03 pm (0803 GMT) in waters off Iwate, prompting the advisory for a possible tsunami up to one metre (three feet) high, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
New Delhi: The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a tsunami advisory for parts of the country’s eastern coastline on Sunday after an earthquake was detected in the Pacific Ocean. The agency and the U.S. Geological Survey both said the magnitude 6.7 quake was detected around 78 miles east of the coastal town of Yamada, at a depth of just over six miles.
