About 50 armed men arrived in Bhag in Kachi district on motorcycles.
New Delhi: Terrorists have wreaked havoc in the town of Bhag in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. One police officer was killed and another injured in the attack. The terrorists also set fire to a Balochistan Levies Force station and other government buildings. Meanwhile, a senior police officer claimed that two terrorists were killed, the body of one of whom is with the Counter-Terrorism Department, while the other body was taken by the fleeing terrorists.
Terrorists arrived on motorcycles
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mazoor Rahman said that about 50 armed men arrived in Bhag in Kachi district on motorcycles and first attacked a Balochistan Levies Force pickup truck, a police station, and a Levies station. The Levies are provincial paramilitary forces in Pakistan. The armed men took Levies personnel hostage and opened fire on the station. However, police deployed in the area immediately retaliated, leading to an encounter.
The terrorists had come to free the prisoners
The SSP stated that Bhag police station in-charge, Lutaf Khosa, was killed and two other policemen were injured. He stated that the armed men had come to free six prisoners from the jail and took them away after setting fire to other government buildings. The SSP stated that the police station was completely burned down and a bank building was also damaged.
It should be noted that earlier on Monday, terrorists had attacked the convoy of the Kech District Deputy Commissioner with a roadside bomb. Although the officer narrowly escaped, nine security personnel and a civilian were injured in the blast.
