DDA’s Diwali Gift: What comes as good news for several people who had applied for the flats, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has recently announced that it has completed 50 percent of a total of 2,800 flats and is ready to hand over them to the allottees in the coming months. These flats have been built in Delhi’s Kathputli Colony. Notably, the Kathputli Colony is a project aimed at rehabilitating people in their current location within the city. Officials familiar with the development stated that the concessionaire has submitted an application for the fire safety NOC and other necessary approvals to start the allocation of 1,400 EWS flats as soon as possible.
“The fire department has pointed out a few deficiencies, which the builder is addressing. Work on securing utility connections and permissions are on. Once the clearances come, the flats will be allotted through a draw of lots. The identification of eligible beneficiaries has already been done,” a report by the Times of India(BHARAT) quoted a DDA official as saying.

ML Khattar, Housing And Urban Affairs Minister, reviewed the project’s progress in August this year and instructed the DDA officials to complete the pending work involving the builder, DDA and the ministry.
DDA member and BJP functionary Rajiv Babbar stated that the residential blocks are mostly completed and works like fire exits, community hall, and shared areas are in their final stages.
