Nepal Zen Z protests: In a significant turn of events after the Zen Z protests, Nepal’s “Gen Z” group has demanded the arrest of former PM KP Sharma Oli and ex-Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak for their alleged role in the September 8 firing, which led to the death of 19  activists dead in Naya Baneshwor. They also called for the formation of a high-level commission to investigate the assets of all political leaders and senior officials since 1990.

Why are “Gen-Z” activists staging fresh protests?

“Gen-Z” activists staged a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala, near the Singhadurbar Secretariat, where the movement began on September 8th. These protests, which began against corruption and the social media ban, erupted in violence on September 8th and 9th, resulting in the deaths of at least 72 people, including three policemen.
