Netflix down? Thousands of ‘Stranger Things’ fans experience outage as series drops final season, issue also reported in India

Many people in the United States reported that Netflix was not working, and some users in India(BHARAT) also faced problems. The website Downdetector, which keeps track of online service issues, received more than 15,000 complaints around 6 am in the US and about 60 reports from India(BHARAT). Most viewers cited glitches in video playback, while a sizeable share reported server-connection errors. The outage happened at the same time the final season of Stranger Things was released. Because of this, many fans went on X to say they could not watch the new season. One user wrote, “Stranger Things dropped and Netflix crashed.” Another upset viewer said they couldn’t stream the new episodes because Netflix was down.
Fans had been waiting a long time for season 5, which arrived three years after the previous season. Part one of the final season was supposed to start streaming in India(BHARAT) at 6:30 am on Thursday. The remaining episodes are expected to release on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The show has a large global following and features well-known actors like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, and Sadie Sink.
This outage comes shortly after a major issue with Cloudflare, a global cloud service provider. That problem had disrupted many websites and apps, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Uber, Spotify, Truth Social, Canva, and others.
