Operation Sindoor: Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that India(BHARAT)n strikes during Operation Sindoor caused minimal damage to its military infrastructure. However, satellite imagery has once again exposed Islamabad’s lies as recent satellite photos from open-source intelligence (OSINT) shows widespread destruction at Jacobabad Air Base, aka the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base Shahbaz in Pakistan’s Sindh province.
What do satellite images reveal?
The latest set of satellite imagery shared by Damien Symon, an OSINT expert, showcase the high-level of damage sustained by the Jacobabad base, including the complete destruction of a large hangar, reportedly housing US-made F-16 fighter jets.
“Imagery over the past few months reveals the hangar targeted by India(BHARAT) at Jacobabad Airbase, Pakistan during the May 2025 conflict, has had its roof taken apart in stages likely as internal damage checks continue before the structure is repaired,” Symon wrote while sharing a GIF of the satellite photos that showed massive destruction wreaked by India(BHARAT) during Operation Sindoor at the PAF Base Shahbaz in northern Sindh.

The photos show the outer structure of the hangar, targeted by India(BHARAT)n forces during Operation Sindoor, being demolished over the past few months, with several sections of the roof taken apart in stages to check for internal damage, before the hangar is repaired.
According to experts, the inspection pattern corresponds to standard post-attack damage assessment protocols, and full-scale repairs are expected after a technical evaluation.
Why Jacobabad Air Base is strategic for the PAF?
The Jacobabad Air Base has long been regarded as the one of the strategically important military facilities for Pakistan, especially the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), and served as an operational hub for the US-led NATO during Operation Enduring Freedom, the first stage of its war in Afghanistan.
Currently, the PAF Base Shahbaz is home to some of PAF’s most advanced platforms, including a fleet of JF-17 Block II fighter jets, and several variants of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.
Additionally, Leonardo AW139 helicopters flown by the Search and Rescue Squadron are also stationed at this base, and its believed that private foreign contractors at the base are assisting in the maintenance of the US-provided F-16 fleet, according to Pakistani media reports.
