Pakistan ATTACKS Afghanistan: Asim Munir’s army bombs Khost, kills 9 kids, 1 woman

Islamabad: Amid the rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islamabad bombed several parts of Afghanistan on the late night of Monday, killing 9 children and a woman. Among those killed, – five boys and four girls – and one woman. The airstrike came a day after a suicide attack at the Paramilitary Force Headquarters in Peshawar that killed at least six civilians. These attacks amid the ceasefire have raised concerns of another major conflict between the two countries.

What Did Taliban Say?

Reacting to the airstrikes, the Taliban government stated that the midnight bombing by Pakistan Army in the Gurbuz district of Khost province targeted a civilian house. The airstrike killed Waliat Khan’s nine children and his wife. The air strikes were also carried out in Kunar  and Paktika, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.

“The Pakistani invading forces bombed the house of a local civilian resident… Air strikes targeting the border regions of Kunar and Paktika wounded another four civilians,” Mujahid tweeted.

No Words From Pakistan’s Side

However, Islamabad has not commented on the strikes. Earlier, the country justified that the attacks targeted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts. Notably, Pakistan thinks and claims that TTP is behind the series of suicide bombings.

Notably, a Pakistani diplomat in Afghanistan held a meeting with a senior Afghan provincial leader amid rising tensions over increasing terror attacks in Pakistan, Dawn reported.

The meeting was held hours after a suicide bombing at the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar.

It is worth noting that Islamabad has maintained its stance that militants operate from Afghan territory to plan and launch cross-border attacks. However, the Taliban rejects this claim.
