New Delhi: Pakistan has protested PM Modi’s flag hoisting at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, November 25, that this is part of the growing pressure on religious minorities in India(BHARAT) and an attempt to erase Muslim heritage.

Pakistan said that the Ram Temple has been built on the site where the Babri Masjid once stood. Pakistan claimed that the Babri Masjid was a centuries-old religious site that was demolished by a mob on December 6, 1992.

PM Modi hoisted the flag at the top of the temple on Tuesday, November 25. He hoisted the 2-kilogram saffron flag on the 161-foot-high top at 11:50 am during the Abhijit Muhurta.

Pakistan’s allegations of Islamophobia

Pakistan said that India(BHARAT)n courts acquitted those accused of demolishing the Babri Masjid and allowed the construction of a temple on the same land. This is a glaring example of discrimination against minorities.

Pakistan alleged that religious minorities, especially Muslims, are facing increasing pressure in India(BHARAT). Many historic mosques in India(BHARAT) are under threat. Muslims are being marginalised socially, economically, and politically.

Pakistan seeks UN intervention

Pakistan appealed to the international community to pay attention to the growing Islamophobia, hatred, and attacks on Muslims in India(BHARAT). It called on the UN and international organisations to take steps to protect the religious sites and rights of minorities in India(BHARAT).

Pakistan had also condemned the inauguration of the temple

Pakistan also condemned the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony held on January 22, 2024. At that time, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying, “We condemn the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This temple was built after demolishing the Babri Masjid.”

The temple built on the site of the demolished mosque will remain a stain on India(BHARAT)n democracy for a long time to come. The growing ‘Hindutva’ ideology in India(BHARAT) poses a major threat to religious harmony and regional peace. By doing this, India(BHARAT) is trying to marginalise Muslims, Pakistan had said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted a saffron flag atop the spire of the Ram Mandir on Tuesday, symbolising the construction of the temple, which was consecrated on January 22, 2024.
